US Naval Academy Summer Stem 2019: Making Soap in a Lab

In this module, I learned the chemical makeup of soap and made some for myself.

To make the soap, I used sodium hydroxide, water, and ethanol. After mixing those ingredients, I heated the mixture over a bunson burner. Then, I added more water to the mixture, drained the water, and let the soap dry.
